GOOD TO KNOW: DON'T MEET WITH THE IRS ALONE

If you're behind on your payroll tax, the IRS would rather put you out of business than allow you to keep accruing unpaid payroll tax.  In the eyes of the IRS, if you're not paying the payroll tax, you're stealing from your employees.  So rather than allow you to continue stealing, they see it was their rightful duty to shut you down.

Your business assets are at risk for being sold off at auction.  If you are behind on payroll taxes, the worst thing you can do is to meet with the IRS alone.  How you answer the first questions that they ask you could make or break your business.   Be proactive- regardless of how big you think your problems are right now... they're nothing compared to what they will be if you let the IRS come in and walk all over you.
